Asake’s M$NEY Dominates 2026 Spotify Streams as Nigerian Artists Battle for Top Spot
The streaming wars are heating up in 2026, and Nigerian artists are showing no signs of slowing down. As we reach the midpoint of the year, the battle for Spotify supremacy has become a tight race between some of Afrobeats’ biggest names, with millions of streams separating the frontrunners.
Asake’s M$NEY currently holds the crown with an impressive 415 million streams, though Omah Lay’s Clarity of Mind is breathing down his neck at 389 million. The 26-million-stream gap might seem comfortable, but in the fast-paced world of digital streaming, that lead could evaporate quickly. Meanwhile, Ayra Starr’s Starrgirl is making serious waves at number three with 203 million streams, claiming the title of highest-streaming project by a Nigerian female artist this year—a testament to her growing global influence.
The top ten reveals the genre’s incredible depth and diversity. Wizkid and Asake’s collaborative Real EP sits at fourth place with 171 million streams, while rising star Shoday’s Hybrid proves the newcomer can compete with the heavyweights, pulling in 91 million streams. Veteran acts aren’t being left behind either—Adekunle Gold’s Fuji Xtra (76 million), Blaqbonez’s No Excuses (Deluxe) (72.7 million), and CKay’s Banger Boy (72.2 million) are all holding strong. Rounding out the list are BNXN and Sarz’s The Game Needs Us at 69 million and Davido’s Oriadé at 67 million streams.
With half the year still ahead and major releases likely on the horizon, this leaderboard is far from final. The question now is who’ll maintain their momentum and who’s got the next project ready to shake up the rankings.
