Award-winning Nigerian singer Simi has officially announced her highly anticipated fifth studio album, promising a star-studded lineup of collaborations with some of Africa’s biggest names. The 14-track project, titled “Restless II,” serves as a spiritual successor to her 2020 EP and marks her most ambitious work to date.
Speaking at a press listening session in Lagos on Thursday, Simi revealed that the album features collaborations with Tiwa Savage, Falz, Adekunle Gold, and South African vocalist Tyla. The project explores themes of motherhood, artistic evolution, and the balance between personal ambition and family life.
“This album is my most personal yet,” Simi explained. “Becoming a mother changed everything about how I see the world and my music. I wanted to capture that transformation while still creating music that makes people dance and feel alive.”
Lead single “No Longer Beneficial” featuring Tiwa Savage has already generated significant buzz, with the track trending across multiple African countries within hours of its midnight release. The uptempo Afro-fusion record showcases both artists trading verses about self-worth and cutting off toxic relationships.
Production credits include longtime collaborator Oscar Heman-Ackah, alongside contributions from P.Priime, Louddaaa, and Ghana’s KillBeatz. The album also features writing contributions from husband Adekunle Gold, who appears on the emotional ballad “Forever.”
“Restless II” is scheduled for release on April 18th, with pre-orders now available across all digital platforms. Simi is also planning an album listening tour across Lagos, Abuja, London, and New York throughout May.
