Davido Unveils ‘ORIADÉ’: Sixth Studio Album Drops July 31

Afrobeats heavyweight Davido is gearing up to deliver his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, arriving July 31, 2026. The announcement comes at a pivotal moment—marking exactly 15 years since the Nigerian superstar first stepped into the music industry. Fresh off the success of last year’s 5ive, Davido is already setting the stage for what could be his most introspective and culturally rooted project yet.

The album’s title carries profound meaning, blending two Yoruba words: “ori” (head or destiny) and “adé” (crown). It’s a declaration of purpose realized and destiny fulfilled—themes that run deep through Davido’s career trajectory. In his own words, the DMW boss reflected on the leap of faith he took a decade and a half ago: “I made a decision to trust something I couldn’t fully explain… I just knew music was my destiny.” He describes ORIADÉ as both a celebration of that journey and a testament to betting on yourself when the path ahead isn’t clear. For Davido, being in a position to champion African music on the global stage remains something he’ll never take for granted.

The album rollout kicked off June 26 with lead single “I Know Who I Be,” featuring Jazzwrld and Gl_ceejay, giving fans their first preview of what’s to come. Following 5ive—which landed another top-five spot on the World Albums chart and boasted features from Victoria Monét, YG Marley, Shenseea, Chris Brown, Becky G, and Omah Lay—expectations are sky-high. Davido’s 2026 has already been monumental: a career-defining Coachella debut alongside Adekunle Gold, and a collaboration with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado on “No Place Like Home” for the FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack, which he performed at the tournament’s LA countdown concert. With ORIADÉ positioned as one of 2026’s most anticipated African releases, the countdown is officially on.
