Davido Prepares to Reclaim His Throne with Oriadé Album

After a decade and a half of commanding stages and dominating airwaves across the globe, Davido is gearing up to drop his sixth studio album, and this one hits differently. Titled Oriadé and set to arrive July 31, 2026, the project represents more than just another collection of bangers—it’s a full embrace of heritage, royalty, and the journey that brought him here.

The announcement itself was pure cinema. Davido appeared in regal burgundy-and-black traditional attire, positioned near a throne and crown, declaring: “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.” That imagery wasn’t just for aesthetics. The album’s title pulls directly from his Yoruba roots, combining “ori” (destiny) with “adé” (crown) to form “the crowned head.” It’s also one of his birth names, a nod to his lineage as a member of the Adeleke royal family from Ede, Osun State. Speaking to Billboard, Davido reflected on the risk he took fifteen years ago: “I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain. I just knew music was my destiny. The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet.”

The album follows last year’s 5ive, which climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart and delivered standout moments like the Omah Lay-assisted “With You,” plus features from Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Shenseea, and YG Marley. This year alone, Davido has already made waves with his Coachella debut—where he brought out Adekunle Gold for a surprise performance—and secured a spot on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado. The lead single from Oriadé, titled “I Know Who I Be,” has already been released, featuring production from South African talents Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, offering the first glimpse into what promises to be a powerful musical statement.

With the crown polished and the throne ready, July 31 can’t come soon enough.
