Davido reveals shocking details about ‘B4 B4’ on Oriadé

In a candid conversation with Carterefe, Davido has pulled back the curtain on one of Oriadé‘s most infectious tracks, revealing that “B4 B4” wasn’t even supposed to be his song in the first place.

The Afrobeats heavyweight opened up about the unexpected journey of “B4 B4,” explaining that the record was originally created by Mayorkun and FOLA as their own collaboration. The plot twist came when Mayorkun sent the track to Davido, asking if he’d jump on it for a verse. After laying down his contribution, something remarkable happened—Mayorkun decided the song should live on Davido’s sixth studio album instead. “They put me on the song. Na Mayorkun & FOLA at first, then Mayorkun sent it to me that he wants me on the song. When I did my verse, Mayorkun said I can have it for my album,” Davido recounted during the interview.

What makes the story even more intriguing is that “B4 B4” nearly didn’t survive the final cut. Davido admitted that Oriadé was already wrapped when he was still on the fence about including the track. Enter Israel DMW, Davido’s loyal aide, who campaigned hard for the song’s inclusion, telling his boss, “Oga the song sweet oh, abeg.” Davido couldn’t resist adding with a laugh, “But at least he didn’t leak it like ‘Flex My Soul,'” throwing playful shade at a previous mishap.
