Fola Is the Most Nominated Artiste at the 18th Headies With 10 Nods!

Fola Dominates 2026 Headies Nominations with Historic 10-Nod Debut

In a stunning breakthrough moment for the rising Afro-R&B sensation, Fola has emerged as the most nominated artist at the 18th annual Headies Awards with an impressive 10 nominations. What makes this achievement even more remarkable? It’s the singer’s first-ever appearance on the prestigious ceremony’s nomination list, signaling a meteoric rise that has the Nigerian music industry taking notice.

The artist born Odunlami Afolarin Temiloluwa has seen his debut project Catharsis translate into recognition across virtually every major category. The album itself secured nods for Album of the Year and Best R&B Album, while Fola’s individual artistry earned him nominations for Next Rated, Best Male Artiste, and Digital Artiste of the Year. His breakout single “You” proved particularly dominant, landing three separate nominations including Afrobeats Single of the Year, Best Recording of the Year, and the highly competitive fan-voted Headies Viewers’ Choice category.

Beyond his performance achievements, Fola’s pen game is also getting its flowers. His track “Who Does That?” earned him a Songwriter of the Year nomination, while his collaborative chemistry with Kizz Daniel on “Lost” secured a Best Collaboration nod. This recognition comes on the heels of earlier momentum built from his breakout track “Alone”, which first introduced audiences to his distinctive sound before Catharsis expanded his reach exponentially. With the ceremony scheduled for October 25 in Toronto, Canada, Fola now stands as the frontrunner heading into one of African music’s most celebrated nights.
