Wizkid becomes the first and only artist to win Afrobeats Rumble twice

Wizkid continues to cement his legacy as one of Afrobeats’ most dominant forces, becoming the first artist in history to win NotJustOk’s Afrobeats Rumble competition twice. The Nigerian megastar successfully defended his 2024 crown by taking home the 2025 title, establishing himself as the undisputed king of the fan-voted tournament.

The Ojuelegba star first claimed the Afrobeats Rumble championship in its inaugural 2024 edition, battling through a grueling 64-artist knockout bracket. After eliminating Rema in a heated semifinal matchup, Wizkid faced off against Burna Boy in an epic final showdown. Starboy dominated the vote with an overwhelming 72% to 28% victory, setting the standard for what would become his signature competition. Fast forward to 2025, and Wizkid proved his initial triumph was no fluke, navigating another field of 64 elite African artists to reclaim the crown.

What makes this year’s victory particularly noteworthy is the evolution of the competition itself. The 2025 edition raised the stakes by selecting participants based on hard data from NotJustOk’s Afrobeats Power Ranking system, ensuring only the hottest artists with the highest cumulative points between January and July 2025 made the cut. Wizkid not only qualified but dominated once again, proving his sustained relevance and fan power across back-to-back years. With both trophies now in his collection, Big Wiz stands alone at the top of Afrobeats Rumble history.

This double championship adds another major accolade to Wizkid’s already stacked résumé, reinforcing his position as a fan-favorite powerhouse in the global Afrobeats movement.
