Afrobeats royalty Davido is set to drop his sixth studio album, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. ORIADÉ, scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, arrives as the superstar celebrates 15 years of reshaping the African music landscape. Coming off the success of last year’s 5ive, OBO is promising something deeper—a project rooted in destiny, purpose, and the culmination of a decade and a half of musical evolution.
The album’s title speaks volumes before a single note plays. ORIADÉ fuses two Yoruba words—”ori” meaning head or destiny, and “adé” translating to crown—creating a powerful statement about claiming your rightful place. Davido opens up about the inspiration, reflecting on that pivotal moment 15 years ago when he chose to trust his instincts and pursue music. “I just knew music was my destiny,” he explains, describing the album as a celebration of every twist and turn that brought him here.
