The king is preparing his throne. Davido has officially unveiled his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, set to drop on July 31, 2026, marking a milestone moment as he celebrates 15 years of reshaping the global Afrobeats landscape. Coming off the heels of his successful 2025 release 5ive, the Nigerian superstar is ready to deliver what he’s calling his most reflective and purposeful body of work yet.
The album’s title carries profound cultural significance, blending two Yoruba words that speak to Davido’s journey: “ori” (head or destiny) and “adé” (crown). Together, ORIADÉ represents destiny fulfilled and purpose crowned—a fitting metaphor for an artist who has consistently elevated African music on the world stage. “Over fifteen years ago, I made a decision to trust something I couldn’t fully explain… I just knew music was my destiny,” Davido shared in his announcement. “ORIADÉ is a celebration of the journey that led me to where I am now. To be in a position where I can help push African music forward around the world is something I’ll never take for granted.”
The project kicks off with lead single “I Know Who I Be,” which hit streaming platforms on June 26, offering fans an early taste of what’s to come. Davido’s 2026 has already been monumental—from his Coachella debut featuring a surprise appearance by Adekunle Gold, to contributing “No Place Like Home” alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado for the FIFA World Cup 2026 official soundtrack, which he performed at the tournament’s LA countdown concert. His previous album 5ive secured another top-five spot on the World Albums chart and boasted collaborations with Victoria Monét, YG Marley, Shenseea, Chris Brown, Becky G, and Omah Lay.
As anticipation builds across the Afrobeats community, ORIADÉ is positioning itself as one of 2026’s most significant African music releases. With more singles, the full tracklist, and featured artists still to be revealed, Davido’s message resonates clear: “The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet.”
