Nigerian cinema powerhouse Funke Akindele is gearing up to dominate the box office once again. The acclaimed filmmaker has just announced her latest project, The Four: No One Fights Alone, an emotionally-charged drama set to hit global theaters on December 11, 2026. Fresh off a historic run of record-breaking releases, Akindele continues to push Nollywood’s boundaries with what promises to be another cultural moment.
The film centers on Esosa and three devoted women whose unbreakable bond is tested when they fight for the future of a young man they love. Set between the scenic Odu Community and Nigeria’s bustling city life, The Four explores themes of friendship, motherhood, resilience, and the extraordinary power of ordinary women. With music woven into the fabric of the story, the production features Afrobeats sensation Shoday alongside award-winning vocalist Waje, adding authentic sonic texture to the cinematic experience. The stellar ensemble cast also includes Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola.
Produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film represents another chapter in Akindele’s remarkable journey as Nigeria’s highest-grossing filmmaker. Her previous releases—Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa, and Behind The Scenes—have consistently shattered box office records while celebrating authentic Nigerian narratives. “Audiences have grown with us over the years, and they expect stories that entertain while reflecting who we are,” Akindele explained. “With The Four, we are exploring the relationships that shape us, challenge us and stay with us. I think audiences will find a part of themselves in this story.” The film’s celebration of Nigerian culture through music, fashion, language, and tradition positions it as more than entertainment—it’s a cultural statement wrapped in compelling storytelling.
