Elevated experiences celebrating the culture through dance and rhythm

Listen to Burna Boy & Shakira’s Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Anthem “Dai Dai”

Burna Boy Teams Up With Shakira for “Dai Dai,” the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Anthem

The global stage just got a whole lot hotter. Burna Boy has joined forces with Colombian icon Shakira to deliver “Dai Dai,” the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This marks a historic moment for the African Giant, who becomes the first Afrobeats artist to headline a World Cup anthem, while Shakira returns to football’s biggest platform sixteen years after her unforgettable “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” dominated the 2010 South Africa tournament.

“Dai Dai” is a sonic celebration that refuses to be boxed in. The nearly four-minute track fuses Afrobeats rhythms with dance-pop energy and reggaetón flavor, creating a multilingual rally cry that spans Japanese, Spanish, French, English, and Italian. The infectious hook—”Dai, dai, ikou, dale, allez, let’s go”—captures the universal language of football itself. Both artists deliver verses that honor the beautiful game and those who live for it, with Burna spitting bars like “Go follow your desire, where there’s a will there’s a way” while name-checking legends from Maradona and Maldini to Ronaldo, Beckham, Kaká, and Messi. The track also shouts out participating nations including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the United States, and the Netherlands. Beyond the music, all royalties from “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund’s ambitious $100 million goal to provide children worldwide with access to quality education and football programs.

The African presence at this World Cup extends far beyond the anthem. A record-breaking ten African nations—Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana, Algeria, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, Cape Verde, South Africa, and DR Congo—have qualified for the tournament. Meanwhile, Afrobeats stars Rema and Tyla are set to light up the US opening ceremony at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 12th, sharing the stage with Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, and LISA. The tournament kicks off June 11th at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and culminates July 19th at the New York New Jersey Stadium, where Shakira will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show alongside Madonna and BTS.
