Elevated experiences celebrating the culture through dance and rhythm

Lola Indigo Breaks Boundaries with Her New Single “Lola’s Anthem”

Spanish-Moroccan artist Lola Indigo is making waves with her latest single “Lola’s Anthem,” a genre-defying track that blends Afrobeats rhythms with Latin pop and Mediterranean influences. The song marks a bold artistic statement from the former dancer turned global pop sensation, showcasing her willingness to experiment across cultural boundaries.

Produced by Nigeria’s Sarz and Spain’s Tainy, “Lola’s Anthem” features infectious percussion, layered vocals, and a chorus sung in both Spanish and Yoruba. The cross-cultural collaboration represents a growing trend of European artists embracing Afrobeats as a foundational sound for global pop music.

“I’ve always been inspired by African music,” Lola Indigo shared in a press statement. “Growing up with Moroccan heritage, I felt a natural connection to African rhythms. Working with Sarz was a dream. He understood my vision immediately.”

The song arrived alongside a music video filmed in Lagos and Barcelona, visually representing the cultural fusion at the heart of the project. Directed by Director K, the video features stunning cinematography that captures both cities’ vibrant street culture, fashion scenes, and nightlife.

Lyrically, “Lola’s Anthem” celebrates female empowerment, independence, and cultural pride. The song’s message has resonated particularly strongly with young women across Europe, Africa, and Latin America, demographics that have become core to Lola Indigo’s expanding fanbase.

The collaboration with Sarz came about after Lola Indigo discovered his production work through Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” album. She reached out via Instagram, and the two artists connected over their shared love of percussion-driven music and melodic hooks.

“Lola’s Anthem” is expected to be included on Lola Indigo’s forthcoming album “Identity,” which will reportedly feature additional collaborations with African artists including Fally Ipupa from Congo and Niniola from Nigeria. The project is scheduled for a summer release through Sony Music Spain.

Radio programmers across Europe have already begun adding the track to rotation, with early airplay in Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal indicating strong commercial potential. The song is also gaining traction in West African countries, particularly Nigeria and Ghana, where Lola Indigo’s embrace of Afrobeats has been well received.
