Poco Lee Opens Up About Burna Boy’s Support During UK Arrest

In a revealing post-release interview, Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has shared how Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy showed unwavering loyalty during one of the most challenging periods of his life. Speaking candidly for the first time since being released on bail following his arrest in the United Kingdom, Poco Lee—born Iweh Odinaka—detailed how the Grammy-winning artist stood firmly in his corner when many others might have distanced themselves.

During a video call that surfaced over the weekend, the popular entertainer explained that facing serious allegations often leaves people isolated, but Burna Boy proved to be a steadfast ally. “Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago and some of my other guys,” Poco Lee stated. The dancer’s legal troubles stem from an incident connected to his August trip to London for Davido’s sold-out concert at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14. Despite the gravity of the situation, Poco Lee maintained that his conscience remained clear throughout the ordeal because he knew he was innocent of the accusations against him.

The entertainer also revealed that his primary concerns while dealing with the legal matter weren’t centered on himself, but rather on how his absence was affecting his team and their business operations. “I was just being myself. God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business, and I didn’t want to stress anyone,” he explained. He emphasized that his mental state would have been entirely different had he actually been guilty: “If I was inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure.” With plea and trial preparation proceedings scheduled for September 15 at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offense, and the allegations remain under judicial review.
