Elevated experiences celebrating the culture through dance and rhythm

FAVE shines in new EP ‘RnBling’

Nigerian sensation FAVE is proving why she’s one of the most compelling voices in contemporary African music with her latest offering, RnBling. The 6-track EP represents a bold creative leap for the singer-songwriter, who’s finally letting collaborators into her carefully curated sonic world for the first time across a full project.

After establishing herself as a solo force on 2022’s Riddim 5 and last year’s Dutty Love, FAVE uses this third EP to demonstrate her evolution as both artist and curator. The magic of RnBling lies in how seamlessly she weaves R&B sensibilities with Afropop energy and dancehall rhythms, creating a cohesive journey that never loses its emotional center. Opening with the seductive “Body Talk,” the project quickly shifts into intimate territory with “Miss You,” where her chemistry with Chike produces one of the EP’s most affecting moments. FAVE’s songwriting remains her superpower—she captures the messy reality of love and longing with devastating precision, wrapping complex feelings in melodies that stick.

The production across RnBling is deliberately varied, with the trio 255 crafting the atmospheric “Drown” and the previously released “Dance” providing that essential radio-ready moment. But it’s the collaborations that reveal FAVE’s confidence as a musical director. “Paparazzi” transforms into a certified vibe when Yemi Alade steps in, injecting dancehall heat into the project’s second half, while Dunnie helps bring things home on the entrancing closer “La La La.” What could have felt like a risky departure instead plays like a natural progression—FAVE hasn’t diluted her artistic vision by opening up her creative process; she’s amplified it.
