The country’s artists have claimed four out of five spots on Spotify’s most-streamed R&B songs across the continent for 2025, reinforcing the nation’s undeniable influence on Africa’s sonic landscape. From Afro-R&B fusion to smooth melodies that blend tradition with contemporary sounds, Nigerian musicians continue to set the pace for what resonates with listeners continent-wide.
Leading the charge is “VENUS” by Faceless and SERØTONIN, which claimed the number one position as Africa’s most-streamed R&B track on the platform. Right behind them is Rema with “Baby (Is It a Crime),” a February 2025 release that has racked up impressive streaming numbers and solidified his crossover appeal. Rising talent Kunmie secured third place with “Arike,” while Fola and Kizz Daniel partnered up for “Lost” at number four. Rounding out the top five is the star-studded collaboration between Ayra Starr and Wizkid titled “Gimme Dat,” proving that when heavyweights link up, magic happens.
The dominance is staggering—80% of the top five belongs to Nigerian acts, a testament to how the country’s artists have mastered the art of crafting R&B that travels beyond borders.
