The legal troubles continue to mount for Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, as Chocolate City has officially launched a ₦50 million lawsuit against the artist following an alleged violent confrontation at the 2025 Flytime Festival. The suit, filed at the High Court of Lagos State, marks the second major legal action against the “Declan Rice” hitmaker in recent weeks, signaling what could become one of the industry’s most contentious legal battles.
The incident allegedly unfolded on December 22, 2025, in the backstage area of the Eko Convention Centre during the high-profile Flytime Festival. According to court filings, Chocolate City’s Project Manager and Public Relations Officer was conducting official duties for one of the label’s performing artists when Odumodublvck entered the restricted zone. What started as a brief interaction quickly escalated when the rapper allegedly asked whether the employee or his brother worked for Chocolate City, then proceeded to strike him in the face without warning. The suit claims that despite security intervention, Odumodublvck continued his aggressive behavior, issuing threats while an associate identified as “Shagba” allegedly poured alcohol on the victim. The employee reportedly suffered facial and neck pain, persistent headaches, and psychological trauma, requiring treatment at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where doctors prescribed strict rest and suspension from work.
The financial implications extend beyond medical bills. The claimant is seeking compensation for approximately ₦2 million in medical treatment, ₦1 million in additional healthcare costs, and ₦1.5 million in out-of-pocket expenses. More significantly, the suit alleges that injuries prevented the employee from fulfilling professional obligations during the festive season, including an overseas engagement with a Chocolate City artist, resulting in lost income and damaged career opportunities. In a formal statement, Chocolate City emphasized that employee safety remains their top priority and expressed confidence in the judicial process to fairly resolve the matter. The timing is particularly striking as this lawsuit arrives on the heels of a separate legal action filed by fellow artist BlaqBonez against Odumodublvck, though the rapper has remained silent on both cases.
