Davido Marks 15 Years in Music With Oriadé, an Album Rooted in Royalty & Legacy | Listen

Davido Celebrates 15-Year Journey With Royal-Themed Album Oriadé

When you’ve spent a decade and a half shaping the sound of a generation, dropping your sixth studio album becomes more than just another release—it’s a coronation. Davido chose July 31, 2026, for a reason: exactly fifteen years after launching his professional music career, the Afrobeats heavyweight returned with Oriadé, a project steeped in heritage, destiny, and the weight of legacy he’s carried since day one.

The title itself is a statement. Pulling from Yoruba language, Oriadé fuses “Ori” (destiny) with “Adé” (crown) to create “the crowned head”—a fitting metaphor for an artist who’s always moved like royalty in the game. This isn’t just branding; it’s a thematic anchor. Across thirteen carefully curated tracks, Davido explores purpose, brotherhood, faith, gratitude, and identity—themes that feel earned after watching him evolve from the kid who gave us “Dami Duro” to the global icon commanding stages worldwide. The album arrives leaner than 2025’s sprawling 5ive, which climbed to number two on Billboard’s World Albums chart, but what it lacks in length, it makes up for in intentionality.

The guest list reads like a cross-continental summit of talent. Ghana’s Black Sherif joins him on “Amazing Grace,” while South African production duo JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay lend their touch to the previously released “I Know Who I Be.” There’s chemistry with his DMW family on “B4 B4” featuring Mayorkun and Fola, international flavor courtesy of French-Malian star Aya Nakamura on “Yaya,” and a smooth R&B crossover moment with Leon Thomas on “Tell Everybody.” NO11 and Llona also make appearances, while solo cuts like “Julie,” “Constantly,” “Already Falling,” “Zanzibar,” and “Guide” showcase Davido holding his own space. With an international tour already announced to support the album, the kingdom isn’t just expanding—it’s going global.
