Davido rolls out sixth album ‘ORIADÉ’

Afrobeats titan Davido marks 15 years of musical dominance with the release of his sixth studio album ORIADÉ, a deeply personal project that arrives via Sony Music UK/RCA Records. The 5-time Grammy-nominated artist has assembled an impressive roster of collaborators for this milestone moment, featuring Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD, and GL_Ceejay across the album’s 13 tracks.

The album’s title carries profound significance, drawing from Yoruba tradition where “Ori” represents one’s head and destiny, while “Adé” symbolizes the crown. Together, ORIADÉ becomes a meditation on the journey of becoming—a theme Davido explores through stories of family, brotherhood, and the relentless pursuit of Nigerian excellence. The project showcases his evolution from rising star to self-proclaimed “King of Afrobeats,” with lead single I Know Who I Be featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay serving as a powerful reflection on that journey. The accompanying visual takes fans back to Davido’s childhood home, with appearances from longtime collaborators who’ve been part of his ascent. The second single, Gimme Dat Ting with NO11, blends Afrobeats rhythms with Amapiano grooves, showcasing the swagger and ambition that’s defined his career.

Musically, Davido pushes creative boundaries while staying rooted in Afrobeats tradition. Amazing Grace with Black Sherif boldly reimagines the Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way as a soulful love song elevated by Davido’s signature raspy delivery. Similarly, Already Falling gives Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love an Afrobeats makeover. On Tell Everybody, Davido and Leon Thomas merge R&B smoothness with Afrobeats energy, creating an intimate declaration of love where Thomas croons “I’m usually private, but I can’t love you in silence” while Davido pledges “tell everybody you’re all that matters to me.” Throughout ORIADÉ, the superstar demonstrates his ability to move seamlessly between sounds and emotions while expanding Afrobeats’ global reach.
