Davido Celebrates 15-Year Journey with Royal New Album “Oriadé”
When you’re Davido, you don’t just drop albums—you orchestrate moments. The Afrobeats titan commemorated fifteen years of musical excellence by releasing Oriadé, his sixth studio album, on July 31, 2026. The timing wasn’t random; it marks exactly a decade and a half since he first stepped onto the professional music scene, and this latest offering proves he’s far from running out of creative fuel.
The album’s name carries weight that extends beyond clever branding. Oriadé merges the Yoruba words “Ori” (destiny) and “Adé” (crown) to form “the crowned head,” a declaration that perfectly captures the project’s exploration of purpose, identity, legacy, gratitude, faith, and brotherhood. This thematic depth runs through all 13 tracks, making it Davido’s most streamlined album to date—a deliberate pivot from 2025’s expansive 5ive, which climbed to number two on the Billboard World Albums chart. Back in June, when he first teased the album with cinematic visuals, Davido declared: “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.” That regal confidence permeates every moment of Oriadé.
The collaborator lineup reads like a who’s who of global talent. Album opener “On the Road” transitions into “Amazing Grace,” which features Ghana’s Black Sherif, while previously released singles “I Know Who I Be” (with South African production duo JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay) and “Gimme Dat Ting” (featuring NO11) anchor the tracklist. Davido also connects with Mayorkun and Fola on “B4 B4,” brings in American R&B artist Leon Thomas for “Tell Everybody,” teams up with French-Malian sensation Aya Nakamura on “Yaya,” and collaborates with Llona on “My Light.” Rounding out the album are solo cuts “Julie,” “Constantly,” “Already Falling,” “Zanzibar,” and “Guide.” When he revealed the tracklist on July 28, Davido proclaimed: “ORIADÉ. Musical royalty from top to bottom. The kingdom expands.” An international tour is already in the works to support the release.
Fifteen years in, and Davido continues to redefine what Afrobeats royalty looks like—one crown at a time.
