Kente, Gold & Couple Style! See Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson’s Ghana Wedding Looks

Royal Affair: Bozoma Saint John & Keely Watson Celebrate Love in Star-Studded Ghanaian Wedding

When marketing executive Bozoma Saint John and her partner Keely Watson decided to tie the knot, they did it with the full splendor of Ghanaian tradition—complete with hand-woven Kente, nearly 1,000 guests, and a custom wedding ring that required an international journey to create.

The couple’s traditional Akan ceremony took place at the private residence of former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo in Accra, bringing together an impressive mix of family, friends, and celebrity guests. The star-studded guest list included Bozoma’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, and Kathy Hilton, alongside African music royalty Tiwa Savage, Efya, KiDi, and Gyakie. Before the festivities began, the couple educated their guests on the significance of Akan marriage customs, explaining how these traditions center on uniting two families rather than just two individuals. Bozoma playfully noted that her favorite aspect of the tradition is the bride being honored as the ultimate prize, while Keely fulfilled an extensive dowry list that included fine spirits, premium textiles, cash envelopes, and exquisite jewelry.

For the main ceremony, Bozoma embodied Ghanaian royalty in a stunning hand-woven Kente drape from Goba Kente and Naana Adobea, styled over a white eyelet-embroidered underskirt with a structured Tikua headpiece replacing the traditional veil. She completed her bridal ensemble with layered gold beaded necklaces, arm cuffs, stacked bangles, leg anklets, and a jeweled feathered fan. Keely complemented her perfectly in a toga-style Kente drape featuring rich geometric patterns, accessorized with a gold crown headband and statement jewelry. The evening reception saw the newlyweds transform into contemporary West African glamour—Bozoma stunned in a custom halter-neck Kente gown by Ghanaian designer Mimmy Yeboah, complete with a corseted silhouette and matching Christian Louboutin heels crafted from her outfit’s Kente fabric. But perhaps the most romantic gesture came in the form of Bozoma’s custom eternity band. Keely flew to Mumbai to hand-select and craft a one-of-a-kind ring featuring gemstones mirroring the vibrant colors of her Kente cloth—an oval-cut red ruby, cushion-cut orange sapphire, round yellow diamond, princess-cut blue sapphire, and emerald-cut green emerald, all framed by brilliant white diamonds. Each stone was chosen to reflect aspects of Bozoma’s personality and their love story. With their traditional Akan ceremony beautifully completed in Accra, the couple is preparing for a second celebration in Los Angeles later this year.
