The December 22, 2026 show was set to be the tour’s first African performance, coming ahead of her South African homecoming dates in Cape Town and Johannesburg scheduled for January 2027. The tour itself celebrates her sophomore album A*POP, which hit streaming platforms on July 24 to widespread acclaim. However, eagle-eyed fans recently noticed the Nigerian date had quietly been scrubbed from the official tour schedule without explanation.
The removal has sparked intense speculation across social media, particularly as it coincides with heated online discourse around diplomatic tensions and reported xenophobic incidents affecting Nigerians in South Africa. Some users had even launched calls for a boycott of the concert before its disappearance from the schedule.
