Tyla Has Removed Lagos From Her A*POP World Tour Schedule

Tyla Pulls Lagos Date From A*POP World Tour Schedule

South African pop sensation Tyla has quietly scrubbed Lagos from her upcoming A*POP World Tour itinerary, leaving Nigerian fans wondering what happened to the December concert date that was supposed to kick off her African leg. The Grammy-winning artist’s official tour page no longer lists the Lagos show that was originally scheduled for December 22, 2026, marking a significant shift in her carefully planned global run.

When Tyla and Live Nation first unveiled the 34-date world tour on July 27, 2026, Lagos was positioned as the opening African date in support of her sophomore album A*POP, which dropped just three days earlier. The Nigerian capital was set to host the star before she headed to Cape Town on January 4, 2027, and Johannesburg on January 9, 2027. But the Lagos date has vanished from the schedule without any official explanation from Tyla’s camp.

The removal comes amid heated social media discourse and boycott calls across Nigerian platforms, fueled by ongoing diplomatic tensions and reported xenophobic incidents affecting Nigerians in South Africa. While conversations about visa issues and regional relations have dominated timelines, neither Tyla nor her management has issued a statement addressing why Lagos got cut. The tour—which represents her first full headline run across North America, Europe, and Africa—will now skip Nigeria entirely and conclude in South Africa as scheduled.
